Johannesburg, South Africa, July 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The World Cup 2010 is reaching its end and it is Spain and the Netherlands who will fight the last battle in South Africa this year. With the World Cup final scheduled to be played in the Soccer City Stadium of Johannesburg on Sunday, both the Dutch and the Spaniards are on their way to make history. For Spain it is their first appearance in a World Cup final, and though Netherlands have arrived till the end two times in the past, the Cup has eluded them on both occasions.
Both teams have shown quite a lot of spunk on the field this year emerging victorious in matches played against some of the best teams like Argentina and Germany. Football analysts are of the opinion that both Spain and Netherlands stand on equal ground when they appear for the final showdown this year. In a total of the nine matches that the two teams played against each other in the past, each won an equal count of four, one of the matches ending in a draw.
Individual players from both the Spain and the Netherlands team too have performed so well in the World Cup in South Africa this year that they have left practically no ground for football experts around the world based on which they can prepare a comparative table and predict the favorites of the finals. Both teams are thus on the threshold of creating history and it is now to be seen who smiles the ultimate smile in South Africa.
