South Carolina Registers Victory Against No.1 Kentucky

southColumbia, Jan 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) All fans of the South Carolina basketball team could not have asked for anything more on Tuesday night when the University of South Carolina registered a victory against the top-ranked Kentucky during the NCAA college basketball game. The Gamecocks beat their opponents by a score of 68-62 in the much anticipated game that was widely attended by fans of college basketball. Moreover, the victory turned out to be all the more special for South Carolina as they handed Kentucky, the number one team in college basketball, their first defeat of the season.

The star player of the evening was South Carolina’s Devan Downey, who managed to score 30 points and ensured his team’s victory. This was the fourth time that the South Carolina player has achieved the 30 point mark in six conference games. Although the Wildcats players tried their best to stay in control of the game, ultimately the Gamecocks players managed to overpower them and emerge as the final winner. Kentucky player DeMarcus Cousins delivered an impressive performance and scored 27 points to provide his team a lead. Meanwhile, through the second half Kentucky managed to take the lead by 47-42, owing to the combined effort of DeMarcus Cousins and fellow freshman John Wall.

However, Devan Downey was the player of the day. He took charge of the game in the second half of the game with three-point play and foul shots which later resulted in his team taking the lead with 54-51. When the score was at 62-61, South Carolina player Brandis Raley-Ross delivered two free throws which decided the fate of the game.
