alabama The Alabama fans were badly disappointed with the performance of the undisputed champions, when they faced South Carolina at the Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday. Had Alabama won the game, it could have brought the rest of the season under its control. However, South Carolina emerged victorious with a score of 35-21.

Alabama Crimson Tide entered the match with a whopping score of 5-0, and rank 1 while South Carolina occupied the 19th rank with a score of 3-1 in the NCAA Football. After the match, the rank of Alabama was dropped to 19. The game was on the side of South Carolina right from the first half of the game. It literally dominated the match with a score of 14, 7, and 7 in the first, second, and third quarters respectively. In the fourth quarter, South Carolina was leading with a score of 28-14 against Alabama. Right from that moment, the outcome of the match became quite predictable.

Greg McElroy of Alabama, got 315 yards and two touchdowns. However, they could get only 38 yards on a 1.4 yard-per-carry average, as their rushing game was fiercely countered by South Carolina. Therefore, their strong attack was of no avail. Mark Ingram, one of their strongest contenders scored just 41 rushing yards on 11 carries. Alabama also converted only five of their 13 third downs, when the team misfired on a field goal.

The stage for South Carolina was set when it got a 31-3 lead in the initial part of the game, after getting a touchdown on their first three possessions. The first three touchdown passes were finished by Stephen Garcia. Marcus Lattimore scored the next two touchdown passes on the ground. Receiver Alshon Jeffrey ran for 127 yards. He also performed a one handed reception, down the sidelines, by the end of the game.
