Nottingham, June 18 (ANI): South African wicket-keeper Mark Boucher has said that his team is not worried about threat that in-form Pakistani paceman Umar Gul possesses in Thurday’s Twenty20 World Cup semi-final and conveyed that the Proteas are ready to face their Pakistani counterpart.

“Gul is a very good bowler, especially in the last couple of overs. But we have played against him before and have been successful. It is only a matter of trusting ourselves,” Sports quoted Boucher, as saying.

Umar Gul has been in destructive form in his team’s last two matches in the championship and is the highest wicket taker with 12 wickets so far.

“We believe we have the players to do well under any circumstances. If they (Pakistan) swing the ball, then we will swing it too. We believe we have the players with the necessary experience to make the right decisions, more than any other team,” Boucher said.Gul’s 5/6 against New Zealand is the best performance in Twenty20 international cricket.Apart from Gul, the Proteas will be targeting key players like Shahid Afridi and Saeed Ajmal. “We played against Ajmal in the warm-up match, but he has the ability to fool you. Especially if the conditions are in his favour, he can be dangerous,” Boucher added.

Following reports that the South African team chokes under pressure at critical moments, Boucher said that the feeling is different in the current team, which has handled the pressure very well. (ANI)
