Souring relations with Butt making it hard for Bari to survive in PCB?
July 7th, 2010 - 5:40 pm ICT by ANILahore, July 7(ANI): Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Operating Officer Wasim Bari is struggling to win back the confidence of Chairman Ijaz Butt as relations between the two officials are reported to be tense at the moment.
Bari, who joined the PCB as Director Human Resource and Administration soon after Butt took the charge as chairman in Oct 2008, was later promoted to COO in place of Saleem Altaf, who had fallen out of favour.
“Nearly a year-old orders of the chairman are lying pending with Bari while his recent move to allot a contract to a certain construction company for building a cricket academy in Karachi without taking the chairman into confidence has not gone down well with Ijaz,” The Nation quoted PCB sources, as saying.
However, PCB official Nadeem Sarwar had earlier categorically denied all the rumours and said that confusion was being created about the relations between the two top officials of the PCB.
“Someone is spreading confusion inside the PCB and trying to develop friction when there is no truth in it,” Sarwar had said. (ANI)
