Mumbai, Jan 14 (ANI): Sony Entertainment Television today bagged the broadcasting rights of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for 10 years.
The total amount of the winning bid is 1.026 billion dollars.
The move will enable Sony, a consortium of Sony Television and World Sports Group, to telecast all IPL matches for the next 10 years starting April 2008.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) backed IPL is scheduled to start the matches in April. Top international players from different countries are expected to participate in the IPL. (ANI)
