Smith not worried over Pietersen returning to form
January 14th, 2010 - 2:22 pm ICT by ANILondon, Jan 14 (ANI): South Africa skipper Graeme Smith is not worried about the prospect of old rival Kevin Pietersen returning to top form.
England hold a 1-0 lead after three Tests of the four-Test series against South Africa, and have twice clung on to escape with tense draws when they were nine wickets down.
Pietersen scored nought and six in the drawn Third Test and has managed just three half-centuries since March in all forms of cricket for England.
Smith insisted: “There is an England top six and anyone can contribute. I’m certainly not losing sleep over KP, I can tell you that.”
England captain Andrew Strauss said: “I’m not unhappy with the way Kevin’s played.”
“He is a man for the big occasion and that does not change over the course of two games,” The Sun quoted Strauss, as saying. (ANI)
