tribute Toronto, Mar 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Canadian Skater Joannie Rochette lost her mother just hours, prior to her Olympic performance, but still the tragedy didn’t deter her, and she went on to perform at the Olympics, and she also won a bronze medal for the same. Now she is going to perform on the ABC’s show ‘Thin Ice’ as a tribute to her mother, who expired just 72 hours before her Olympic win.

Earlier the Canadian Skater Joannie Rochette had withdrawn from the competition offering the excuse, that she had lost a lot of training time. But now she is going to perform on the show as a tribute to her loving mother, who passed away before she could see her daughter winning an Olympic bronze medal.

She is also set to perform in the ‘Stars On Ice’ tour that will start on the 1st of April in Florida. Since she had dropped out of the show earlier, so she had to obtain permission from the International Skating Union, to participate. The International Skating Union has a rule that once the competitor has dropped out, then they can’t perform again, however in the case of the Canadian Skater Joannie Rochette a special concession was made.
