Siddle raring to go for Boxing Day Test against Pakistan
December 22nd, 2009 - 4:51 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Melbourne, Dec 22(ANI): Australian fast bowler Peter Siddle has said that he has completely recovered from the hamstring injury which had kept him out of the third Test match against West Indies at the WACA Ground in Perth.
Siddle said he is delighted with the opportunity to prove his fitness in Victoria’s ODI game against New South Wales on Wednesday at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
“The funny thing was I was actually better before the Perth Test than I was in Adelaide (second Test), so it’s not as big a deal as everyone thinks. I’ve had a couple of bowls the past two days and I had a good hit-out yesterday in the middle of one of the district grounds and it’s come up fine,” Fox Sports quoted Siddle, as saying.
“I don’t feel any different to when I was bowling a few months ago. It’s feeling ready and I’m feeling confident,” he added.
He further added that the domestic match will allow him a hit-out at full pace ahead of the Boxing Day Test against Pakistan, at the MCG in Melbourne.
“That’s what you want to do, you want to test it out the best way possible and that’s going to be playing this game and preparing well, and that’s going to give me the best combination,” Siddle said. (ANI)
