Shreya, Tarundeep lead in Usha Chandigarh Junior Golf
June 28th, 2011 - 10:18 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, June 28 (IANS) Shreya Ghei opened a handy five-shot lead over her nearest rival Gurbani Singh in the opening round of the Usha Chandigarh Junior Open golf tournament here Tuesday.
Ghei, a member of the Indian team at the Asian Games, had three birdies, but she also dropped a bunch of bogeys to finish at four-over 70. Gurbani shot 79.
In the boys “A” group, Tarundeep Singh Chadha shared the lead with Arjun Singh, as both shot two-over 72 each, and Manu Gandas and Rahul Ravi were one shot behind. Also shooting a 72 was Honey Baisoya in Group B, where he held a one shot lead over Prabhakar Asawa.
In Group C Boys, Karandeep Kochar (76) and Adil Bir Singh (79) were the top two, while in Girls Group B Vrishali Sinha (80) was the leader.
