Shaun White Takes Home Second Gold At Winter Olympics 2010

whiteVancouver, Feb 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) All the fans of American snowboarder Shaun White could not have asked for anything more on Wednesday when the skateboarder claimed a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics at Vancouver. He grabbed the highest reward at the Olympic halfpipe and displayed such a stunning performance0 that hardly left any doubt that he would be picking up the gold medal.

The 23 year old snowboarder enthralled the audiences with his signature trick, the dangerous Double McTwist 1260 along with two backflips with 3.5 rotations on his board, that impressed everyone who were present to witness the spectacle. Although Shaun White had already registered a score of 46.8 during the first trip which was almost enough to make him win a medal, the snowboarder did not leave any stones unturned as he went on with his spectacular feat and managed to score 48.4 at the final run. Following his run, Shaun White exclaimed that he surely had it in him to win the gold medal this time and also added that his amazing performance during the competition surely made him feel good.

However, this was not the first time that the much acclaimed snowboarder took home the gold medal. Shaun White is also known to have won the gold medal in the halfpipe during the 2006 Olympics. The occasion was all the more special for the snowboarder this time around as his entire family was present to witness his victory. With Shaun White grabbing the gold medal, the silver medal was picked up by Peetu Piiroinen of Finland while American Scotty Lago took home the bronze medal.
