Chennai, Sept 5 (IANS) S. Sharath Kumar of Ten10 Racing set a track record of one minute, 58.516 seconds in the Group B (Expert, up to 165cc, 4 stroke) class as he clinched the championship title in the Sidvin-FMSCI National Motorcycle Racing Championship here Sunday.
Sharath won both his races in the fourth and penultimate round over the weekend to take his tally to 65.5 points as against his nearest rival veteran Sriskandarajah of Moto Rev India (52) in the provisional standings.

Likewise, P. Deva Kumar (Moto Rev India) and K. Prakash (TVS Racing) took unassailable leads in the championship standings in their respective classes by winning both their races over the weekend.

Deva Kumar has 70 points to K. Umesh Babu’s 36 in the Group B (Open) class while Prakash jumped to 70 of B Naveen Raj’s 43.

Meanwhile, international Krishnan Rajini of Red Rooster Racing caught up with championship leader Sumit Lucas Toppo of Blue Arrow Racing with another double in the Super Stock (600cc) class. The two are tied on points with 60 apiece.

The last round of the championship concludes in December.
