Mohammad Imran, a national javelin throw champion holding the title for the last three years, is among the suspended athletes.
Other athletes who had tested positive and now banned are Rozina Shafqat, Nadia Nazir, Shagufta Noreen, Zara Razzak, Mohammad Waseem and Asif Javed, The Dawn reports.
The decision to ban the athletes was taken by an inquiry committee constituted by the Pakistan Athletic Federation (AFP).
AFP Secretary Khalid Mehmood said that all the seven athletes could appeal their suspensions.
Mehmood also said that the medals awarded to these athletes would be withdrawn due to the ban.
Earlier, last month, an appeal tribunal of Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) had upheld sprinters Sadaf Siddique and Javeria Hassan’s two-year suspensions. (ANI)
