Atlantic City, Apr 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Saturday, the audience and millions of viewers witnessed the deadly fight between Sergio Martinez and Kelly Pavlik as Argentinean Sergio Martinez won the WBO and WBC Middle weight titles 2010. The twelve round fight went in favor of Sergio Martinez at the end as he was declared the winner after the unanimous decision. Kelly Pavlik also put a brilliant fight but failed to stand in front of the tackles and aggressive fight of Sergio Martinez.

From the beginning it seemed that Sergio Martinez was determined to get the tittle. He took to aggressive movements from the beginning and was able to put forward some right jabs and Straight lefts. He showed a brilliant speed from the very first round. At points it seemed that the early aggressive rights of Sergio Martinez left Kelly Pavlik off-balance with the latter pouncing with some punches which Sergio Martinez was able to tackle and rebound. While the first few rounds were dominated by Sergio Martinez, the defending champion Kelly Pavlik tried to get an upper hand in the fifth round and was able to maintain the lead in two rounds. In the seventh round Sergio Martinez had a knockdown from Kelly Pavlik and it seemed that the game might turn in favor of Kelly Pavlik.

However, after the knockdown Sergio Martinez retrieved back and dominated the rest of the game. In the ninth round Sergio Martinez landed a brilliant shot which ended up making a deep gash over his opponent’s right eye. After the win, Sergio Martinez mentioned that he had a 12 round plan sketched out and he expected a few round of blows from the defending champion but was determined to end the game on a high note.
