London, June 30 (ANI): Serena Williams, who is course to securing a place in this year’s Wimbledon’s finals, thinks her rivals are probably glad that her parents produced only two tennis stars, her and sister Venus.
Williams, the defending champion, was speaking after defeating Chinese No 9 seed Na Li 7-5 6-3 to set up a semi-final clash with Czech left-hander Petra Kvitova.
The Sun quoted Serena, 28, as saying: “I think most on the tour are pleased there are only the two of us. My mom and dad stopped having kids after me.”
“Any more and it would be disastrous for them, especially if they were younger ones that kept doing well,” she added. (ANI)
