New York, Sep 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Serbian tennis star Janko Tipsarevic displayed a scintillating performance during the Wednesday night’s showdown with ninth seed Andy Roddick which enabled the World No.44 player to register a stunning victory. The Serbian player completely overpowered his American opponent and went ahead to beat him by 3-6 7-5 6-3 7-6 (7-4). The manner in which the entire game on Wednesday night unfolded surely wasn’t something that all the followers of Andy Roddick would like to remember for very long as the ninth seed was ousted from the U.S Open in the second round itself. With this defeat, Andy Roddick’s dream of winning the U.S Open for the second time came to a grinding halt.
Apart from the surprise victory by Janko Tipsarevic, Wednesday night’s was not devoid of its share of drama as during the third set as it was increasingly becoming difficult for Andy Roddick to emerge victorious, the American player lost his temper with the line judge when he was called for a foot fault. Realizing that the match was gradually slipping away from him, the American player throw away his racket in utter frustration while he also went on to indulge in a heated exchange with line judge.
After the match reached its climax with the 26-year-old Serbian player clinching victory, Andy Roddick accepted that his rant after he was called for a foot fault was indeed over the top.
