New Delhi, Dec 14 (IANS) Due to political tension in the coastal city of Visakhapatnam, the Indian cricket board Monday decided to shift the venue of the second one-day international against Sri Lanka to Nagpur.
The match will now be a day-night affair and will take place Friday at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium in Nagpur, which had hosted the first Twenty20 international of the series.
Visakhapatnam, a prominent city in the state of Andhra Pradesh, is now in the midst of political demonstrations after the central government’s decision to create a separate state of Telangana.
The one-day series starts Tuesday in Rajkot, followed by matches in Nagpur (Dec 18), Cuttack (Dec 21), Kolkata (Dec 24) and New Delhi (Dec 27).
