ssJan 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sunday night turned out to be a promising one for the Seattle Seahawks after the team beat the St.Louis Rams by a score of 16-6. From what appears from the scores it is not difficult to guess how the Seahawks had clinched the victory for themselves by literally crushing the Rams. Seattle Seahawks ardent followers present at Qwest Field had a gala time as they witnessed how the home team went on to grab the NFC West Division title. Pete Carroll, for whom it was the first game with the Seahawks as a coach had the obvious joy on his face and could not seem to hold on his excitement.

The new coach of the Seahawks had enough reasons to do so for his boys had undoubtedly done him proud. Seattle quarterback Charlie Whitehurst who was the replacement for the injured Matt Hasselbeck was the man to watch out for. The player who made his second career start on Sunday night was seen throwing a four yard touchdown to Mike Williams. After completing a 61 yard pass to Ruvell Martin, Charlie Whitehurst had lifted the Seahawks score to such a level from which the Rams were far away. What followed next it was easy to guess that the Rams were likely to fail that night. Not halting with this, Charlie Whitehurst advanced to 192 yards without committing any turnover leading his team for the victory.

After his last night performance, football experts surely must be wondering where this budding talent had been for so long. Charlie Whitehurst previously was in the San Diego camp where he hardly got the chance to prove his skills. The Seahawks certainly owe a good amount of their title victory to Charlie Whitehurst.
