Scotty Lago’s Olympic Run Jeopardized After Internet Photo Scandal

Vancouver, Canada, Feb 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Scotty Lago, the bronze medal winner for men’s halfpipe at the Olympics, faced some controversies right after his success. After clinching the very prestigious bronze medal on Thursday, he was celebrating with his friends. Two of the snaps taken during the party have put the young champion in trouble. Scotty Lago is reportedly leaving Olympics and going back home.
According to reports, Scotty Lago was clad in a Team USA T-shirt for the celebration. Someone clicked a photo when a young girl bent down to kiss the bronze medal which was dangling a little below Scotty Lago’s waist. The other was taken when the girl was biting the medal. Much to Scotty Lago’s humiliation, both the snaps were posted on internet the day after.
Sources indicate that Scotty Lago was shocked. He apparently apologized to the U.S. Olympic and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association officials. He reportedly told them he is going back home.
The recent success of Scotty Lago got overshadowed by the scandal which is really a very sad thing, considering the professional skills of the talented star. Winter Olympics authority is particular about rules. Earlier, freestyle skier Jeret Peterson was dismissed from 2006 Olympics as he had consumed alcohol and fought in a bar in Turin, Italy. According to reports, Scotty Lago is voluntarily leaving Olympics. Whether U.S. Olympic and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association officials are disappointed with him or not are not yet known. The young bronze medal winner is already facing the problems which most of the celebrity does.
