Schiavone wins French Open women’s title
June 5th, 2010 - 10:04 pm ICT by IANSParis, June 5 (DPA) Francesca Schiavone defeated Samantha Stosur 6-4, 7-6 (2) for the French Open title Saturday, the first Italian woman to win a Grand Slam.
The 17th-seeded Schiavone, 29, rallied from 1-4 down in the second set to prevail over her seventh-seeded Australian opponent in 1 hour 38 minutes.
