Las Vegas, May 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Saturday night Saul Alvarez won over Jose Miguel Cotto by showing a mastery of skill and energy towards the end of the game. In his debut Las Vegas game fight against Jose Miguel Cotto, the former seemed to be struggling to keep up pace in the first few rounds of the game. It was clear from the boxing event that the rising boxer was trying hard to win the game over Jose Miguel Cotto who is the older brother of the former welterweight champion Miguel Cotto.
In the very opening minutes of the game, Jose Miguel Cotto was able to overpower Saul Alvarez on the ropes. However, that did not dampen the spirit of Saul Alvarez who went on to take the revenge in the second round. In the second round Saul Alvarez went for a knockdown over Jose Miguel Cotto which left the latter staggering over the canvas. However, as the game proceeded it seemed from the move of Saul Alvarez that he was no more scared of the moves of his opponent. In the ninth round he overpowered Jose Miguel Cotto by launching a number of head shots rapidly on the latter, rendering him defenseless. Nine seconds before the end of round nine the referee Tony Weeks stepped in to stop the game and Saul Alvarez remained undefeated.
After the win Saul Alvarez said to media sources that the win was “just a matter of time”. He told that while in the first round he was a little scared, he gained confidence as the game proceeded. Saul Alvarez also mentioned that he would return to Las Vegas soon to fight another bout.
