Chennai, Dec 19 (IANS) Saran Vikram of Mars Racing stamped his authority on the Formula Rolon class that could well have lived its final season by winning the title in the 13th JK Tyre National Racing Championship that concluded here Sunday.After a non-finish in the first race of the double-header on Saturday that witnessed much chaos and confusion, Vikram clinched the honours by winning the second race on Sunday for his sixth win in 12 outings in the series.

Vikram finished on 63 points followed by local schoolboy G Vikash Anand (50) of VA-RAD Racing and Pune’s Chitesh Mandody (43) of Mohite’s Racing.

The revamped Rolon class has faced endless gremlins through the season and the Paddock talk suggests that the category might be scrapped next year.

Meanwhile, Vizag’s Sailesh Bolisetti clinched the title in the VW Polo Cup series despite failing to win either of the two races, but lost the championship in the Super Saloon class to Siddharth Kishore (Performance Racing) who achieved a double in the final round that was marred by protests and appeals.

Bangalore’s Ajay Kini of Wallace Sports had already clinched the crown in the Formula LGB Swift class on Saturday, thus making the Sunday’s second race inconsequential.

TVS Girling won the team honours in Formula Swift and while Amaron clinched the Formula Rolon title while former champion VA Radha Selvaraj’s VA-RAD Racing topped in the Super Saloons category.
