Kumar Sangakkara Hyderabad, Apr 15 (ANI): Deccan Chargers skipper Kumar Sangakkara praised his team’s effort after winning a match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Hyderabad.

Sangakkara said it was a relief as the team won the match on the home ground in the ongoing Indian Premier League.

“A win is a win. It’s great to get the momentum and the confidence back, to get that winning feeling back but 20-20 every game is new game. So we can’t really sit back and think that Oh! It’s going to happen. So, there are few things we need to improve on and just keep playing like we do,” said Sangakkara.

He also praised two Indian players Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli for their world-class performance and also praised his bowlers for maintaining good length and length during the match.

“I think in the Indian cricket Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli are two excellent players and they can hold their own against anyone in the world. When Virat was going, it was still a very uphill struggle for RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) because they had lost a lot of wickets and the momentum was all with us and he needed to something unbelievable to really get them all in line so all we had to was to hold our nerve and keep bowling the areas we wanted to bowl,” he added.

Sri Lanka captain also said his national teammates in the IPL would have to abide by the decision taken by their Cricket Board regarding returning home midway into the Twenty20 league for a tour of England.
