Sandhu takes lead in PGTI qualifying

Gurgaon, Dec 8 (IANS) Karanjit Sandhu of the DLF Golf and Country Club shot five under 67 to lead after round one of the Aircel-PGTI’s Final Qualifying Stage for the 2010 season being held at the Golden Greens Golf and Country Club, here Tuesday.
American Peter Henry Bronson and S.K. Hasem of Kolkata shot scores of three under 69 to be placed tied second. The Pakistani duo of Imdad Hussain and Muhammad Siddique are tied fourth with matching scores of two under 70.

Sandhu made six birdies against a lone bogey and his round included three consecutive birdies on the sixth, seventh and eighth.

The top 80 players (+ ties) will make the cut after round two of the Final Qualifying Stage. At the end of round four only the top 42 (+ ties) will earn full cards for the 2010 Aircel-PGTI season.
