Greater Noida, March 17 (IANS) India’s Sanaa Bhambri and Rushmi Chakravarthi pair stormed their way into the quarterfinals while sisters Neha and Shikha Uberoi had to dig deep to enter the last eight of the $25,000 Women’s Challenger tennis tournament here Monday. Wildcard holder Sanaa and Rushmi registered a facile 6-2, 6-3 win over Indo-British combination of Sonal Phadke and Nicola Mooney in the first round. But Uberoi sisters’ had to overcome stiff resistance from Chinese pair of Wan-Ting Liu and Yi-Jing Zhao before beating them 6-2,3-6 (10-4) in the super tie- break.
Meanwhile, in the singles draw, Isha Lakhani made a first round exit losing in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 to fourth seed Chanelle Scheepers of South Africa.
