Saints Victory Celebration Leaves Three Injured

New Orleans, Feb 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) As the large number of Saints fans thronged Bourbon Street, to celebrate New Orleans Saints first Super Bowl victory, three bystanders were left wounded after being hit with bullets fired during the victory celebrations in the wee hours of Monday morning.
It has been revealed that Eighth District police officials found three people injured with gunshot injuries, after responding to a firing incident just after midnight. Officials have stated that two women in their twenties and a 26 year old man who suffered injuries in the incident were immediately admitted to a medical facility, where they received preliminary treatment.
Officer Janssen Valencia, spokesperson of the New Orleans Police Department later issued a statement in which confirms that the three individuals were present among the huge crowd which had gathered in the French Quarter to participate in the celebration, when they were stuck by the stray bullets. At the same time, it has been revealed that all the three injured have received treatment and have been subsequently released. Moreover, NOPD Asst. Superintendent Marlon Defillo has stated that two people possessing pistols have been detained in the case. However, as of now the authorities are in the process of investigating whether they were actually responsible for the shooting incident. The two persons were taken into custody after they were seen fleeing from the site of the incident near Iberville and Bourbon streets.
The city of New Orleans went into an unparalleled celebration mode soon after the New Orleans Saints registered their first-ever Super Bowl triumph by beating the Indianapolis Colts by 31-17 in the finale on Sunday.
