Sacked PCB official wants Boards accounts independently auditedJune 24th, 2008 - 3:37 pm ICT by ANI
Lahore , June 24 (ANI): Saleem Altaf, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official who was recently sacked, has demanded an independent audit of the Board finances as, he added, they lacked transparency.
He also said that lately the Boards staff strength had swelled up to 700, which was unprecedented.
PCB lacks accountability and transparency in financial matters. Under chairman Nasim Ashraf the staffing of the Board has grown close to 700, which is unheard of in any cricket setup in the world. An independent audit is required, The News quoted him as saying in a TV interview.
Altaf, who was director of special projects before being fired for allegedly leaking sensitive information to the press, said he would file a lawsuit against Ashraf against the unlawful taping of his conversations.
They have not charged me with anything in writing nor have they given me any termination letter. I am taking them to court that is for sure, he added. (ANI)
