Sachin TendulkarJuly 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar proved yet again that age is only in the mind as he scored another scintillating double hundred against Sri Lanka on the fourth day of the second test at Dambulla. The maestro was supported by the debuting left hander Suresh Raina, who also managed to score a 120 on the flat Sri Lankan pitch.

In spite of dead wicket, the Sri Lankan bowlers seemed eager to dismiss the well settled Suresh Raina and Sachin Tendulkar. Near the end of the second day there was significant reverse swing visible and it looked that the seamers might just make a break through early on in the third day. Sachin Tendulkar quickly ensured that the inexperience in the Sri Lankan bowling was exposed and he steadied himself for an easy paced knock. Sri Lanka clearly missed the likes of Muttiah Muralidharan and Lasith Malinga in the second test but considering the flatness of the wicket, experts felt that even the best of bowlers would have had a tough time bowling.

On day five it will be interesting to see how the Sri Lankan openers decide to play. In spite of a draw looking obvious at this stage, the teams could start attacking early on to open up chances of a turnaround. Sachin Tendulkar’s notching up of another double ton is yet another proof that the batting maestro is at his fittest and ready to take on the world in the World Cup in 2011. Tilekaratne Dilshan proved to be the only star for Sri Lanka as he picked two of the important wickets of Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni on the fourth day.
