Russia To Have First Grand Prix Formula One
October 15th, 2010 - 2:09 am ICT by Angela Kaye MasonOct 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The first races of the Russian Grand Prix will be hosted in Sochi, and the Russian Grand Prix F1 races will be held between the years of 2014, and 2020, with a possible five year extension in the works.
The Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Alexander Tkachev, and the chief promoter of the races Bernie Ecllestone are both set to sign the agreement on the Russian Grand Prix to be held in the Black Sea city of Sochi, which is where the 2014 Winter Games will be performed.
The Russian government will be the guarantor f the Formula One event. Vladimir Putin, who is the Russian Prime Minister has also vowed to take part in the events by signing the contract.
