New Delhi, March 10 (IANS) India’s Rushmi Chakravarthi bowed out in the first round of ITF Women’s tennis losing in straight set 6-0, 6-3 to Estonia’s Margit Ruutel here Monday. The Indians in fray in the doubles draw, however, registered facile wins over to sail in the second round.
Bhambri sisters, Ankita and Sanaa had it easy against fellow Indian Isha Lakhani and her Indonesian partner Sandy Gumulya, beating them 6-3,7-5 to advance to the second round.
Sunitha Rao and her French partner Aurelie Vedy, seeded second, faced some resistance from Chinese pair of Wan-Ting Liu and Yi-Jing Zhao before outsmarting them 7-5,6-4.
