leanRenton, Washington, Apr 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Leon Washington was traded to the Seattle Seahawks by the New York Jets on Saturday with which Seahawks added a second veteran running back to the team on the same day. However, Leon Washington was not the only player who was acquired by the Seattle Seahawks, as the team also added a seventh round draft pick from the New York Jets in exchange of a fifth round pick.

On Saturday, along with Leon Washington, the Seattle Seahawks also acquired LenDale White from Tennessee and both the players are being considered to be an interesting addition to strengthen the backfield of the team. While reacting to the trade, the 27 year old former New York Jets player added that he was stoked to know that he had been traded to the Seattle Seahawks. The much acclaimed wide receiver is said to have been intimated about the news while he was planning a fishing outing with former New York Jets player Chris Baker. The fact that Leon Washington became expendable for the New Yorks Jets became evident when the team picked LaDainian Tomlinson and later Joe McKnight in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL draft.

Meanwhile, Leon Washington is currently recuperating from a compound fracture that he suffered in the month of October last year in a game against the Oakland. The injury was so severe that a metal rod needed to be inserted in the leg due to which the player had to miss the rest of the 2009 season. Prior to his injury, Leon Washington was one to be one of the most dynamic players of the NFL.
