Rubin signs Malaga striker Rondon
August 5th, 2012 - 6:06 pm ICT by IANSMoscow, Aug 5 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Venezuela striker Salomon Rondon has switched from Malaga to Rubin Kazan, the Russia Premier League side said Sunday.
Rondon scored 25 goals in 67 appearances during two seasons with the Primera Division outfit,
“The 22 year-old Venezuela national team forward has signed a four-year deal with Rubin,” the Russian club said in a website statement.
Rondon has 24 caps for Venezuela and has scored eight international goals.
Rubin finished sixth last season in the Russian Premier League, a disappointing result after back-to-back titles in 2008 and 2009 and third place in 2010.
A 1-0 win in the Russian Cup final over Dynamo Moscow salvaged some silverware and a place in this season’s Europa League.
Rubin’s next game is Monday against FC Volga.
