Rosangel Cabrera calls 911 after fight with Miguel Cabrera
October 6th, 2009 - 6:35 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattBirmingham, Oct 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Detroit Tigers Miguel Cabrera’s wife Rosangel called 911 and asked the cops to intervene t=in their spousal fight, after Miguel arrived home drunk in the wee hours of the morning.
Excerpts from Rosangel Cabrera’s 911 call:
911 Operator: Birmingham 911…
Rosangel Cabrera: Yes, please. I need help, please.
911 Operator: Has he hit you?
Rosangel Cabrera: yeah.
911 Operator: (talking to an officer) There is somewhat of a language barrier, it sounds like her husband has hit her. She’s in a room upstairs; he’s still in the home. No weapons.
911 Operator: Do you need an ambulance?
Rosangel Cabrera: No, no, no.
911 Operator: Where is he now?
Rosangel Cabrera: He’s downstairs.
911 Operator: Has he done this before?
Rosangel Cabrera: No.
911 Operator: Has he been drinking?
Rosangel Cabrera: Yeah.
According to reports, Rosangel Cabrera seemed to have an bruise on her lower lip. And Miguel had minor injuries on the left side of his face. This seemed as the result of the scuffle that they had.
The police came to Rosangel’s rescue, but no charges were filed. “We could tell they had been in a fight – both of them. They obviously were very agitated,” said Birmingham Police Chief Richard Patterson.
