Rooney is the joker of the England team: Gerrard
June 18th, 2010 - 7:01 pm ICT by ANILondon, June 18(ANI): England skipper Steven Gerrard reckons that key striker Wayne Rooney will keep the Three Lions’ morale up during the World Cup after revealing that he is the joker of the squad.
Gerrard said that Rooney is keeping up team morale with his banter and practical jokes.
“Who is the joker in the pack? It’s obviously Wayne Rooney,” The Sun quoted Gerrard, as saying.
“He’s always in and out of people’s rooms, trying to make fun of people. Every time you see Wayne he’s laughing or smiling,” he added.
He also praised his Rooney’s enthusiasm, insisting that he was the “key man” for getting to the final.
“Wayne is our superstar,” Gerrard said. (ANI)
