Roo sank Hull over Fergie’s hairdryer fear

Alex Ferguson London, Dec. 28 (ANI): Striker Wayne Rooney has admitted that the fear of Alex Ferguson’s hairdryer treatment spurred him on to sink Hull.

The Manchester United ace’s woeful back pass led to a penalty which let Craig Fagan pull the Tigers level.

But Rooney made amends - adding to his first-half strike by forcing Andy Dawson into an own goal before setting up Dimitar Berbatov with an inch-perfect pass.

“I feel relieved because their equaliser came from my mistake. It’s the first time it has ever happened to me and it wasn’t a nice feeling. I didn’t want to let the lads down. But I was most worried about what the manager might say,” The Sun quoted Rooney, as saying.

“In the end he just said well done for getting the result. It was a mistake but we got the win in the end so he said, ‘Thank you, you’re not so bad!’ It was a wide open game. Hull went forward and committed men forward which left us space to counter-attack,” Rooney added. (ANI)
