London, Sep.17 (ANI): England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will escape any internal disciplinary action for his strop in Istanbul.
Manchester United striker Rooney flew into a rage after being substituted along with Michael Carrick to make way for Michael Owen and Dimitar Berbatov.
But manager Alex Ferguson has ignored his antics as he prepares his side for Sunday’s Manchester derby at Old Trafford.
Rooney was hauled off in the 63rd minute of United’s 1-0 win over Besiktas in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
He trudged off and gave Owen a weak handshake before ignoring the manager and trading verbals with the Besiktas fans who taunted him.
He then took one boot off and flung it to the ground before gesticulating towards Ferguson.
But Fergie shook off the incident as United ground out a valuable victory. (ANI)
