July 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The unrestricted free-agent shooting guard Ronnie Brewer has reached a deal with Chicago Bulls. The news was revealed to media sources by the agent of the player, Henry Thomas who said that the player had signed a three-year deal with the team that is worth $12.5 million. The third year of the deal is, however, not guaranteed. The agent said during a phone interview that he thinks that the Chicago Bulls is the right team for 25-year-old Ronnie Brewer.
Henry Thomas added that Ronnie Brewer is excited about the opportunity that he has got this season. According to the agent, Ronnie Brewer was approached by teams that included Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls. The shooting-guard had chosen the Chicago Bulls team over the Boston Celtics as the former will provide him with the opportunity to play with players like Derrick Rose and also with former team mates like Kyle Korver and Carlos Boozer.
In last season, Ronnie Brewer, began with the Utah Jazz before being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. For the Memphis Grizzlies, the player played five games but suffered a setback towards the end of the season when he suffered from a hamstring injury. Although Ronnie Brewer had not shown much play in the Utah Jazz team, Henry Thomas believes that the player is capable of leading the ball. “He’s definitely capable” Henry Thomas has said. One of the major reasons that the Chicago Bulls General Manager Gar Forman had gone for Ronnie Brewer is the latter’s defensive play and Henry Thomas is confident that Ronnie Brewer’s play will impress new Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau.
