ron New York, Oct 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Basketball player, Ron Artest is paying tribute to his dead friend Mike Chatfield who is expected to have been killed in a random act of street violence. He has displayed a new hair cut in the memory of his deceased friend Mike Chatfield. As stated by the sources, two characters of Chinese script were displayed on left part of the player’s head. Sources also stated that those two letters signified champion. On the other side of his head was a term ‘Chatty’. He had stated that the name of the player was written for honoring Chatty.

Ron Artest said that he learned the game from Mike Chatfield while they were growing up in the Queens bridge section of Queens, N.Y. “We would play and he would beat me, 32-zip,” Artest recalled.

Ron Artest was lucky and he went on to play at St. John’s and in the NBA. Mike Chatfield stayed behind on the streets, where he became something of a playground legend. He frequently got into trouble with the law and also had to serve time in prison. “I think the streets got him,” Artest said. “He got killed. So, I’ll dedicate some of this season to him, my boy.”
