roger1Ace tennis player Roger Federer has enough going on in his life to keep him smiling constantly. He is now a proud father after his gave birth to twin girls on Thursday. The most recently updated post on his Facebook account stated that his 31 year old wife Mirka has given birth and the couple have named their twin delights Charlene Riva and Myla Rose.

The couple had married in the month of April this year and this is their first children. The pregnancy had been announced in March but it had not been disclosed then that the couple were expecting twins. Earlier this month, the very pregnant Mirka was present at the courts of the Wimbledon’s final in which Roger Federer made history when he beat America’s Andy Roddick to claim the 15th grand slam title of his professional tennis career. The win had also help him break Pete Sampras’ previous world record of grand slam title wins.

The world number one was eager to share his joy with his fans and well wishers and in an effort to spread the good news, the 27 year old Federer entered on his Facebook page, “I have some exciting news to share with you.” “Late last night, in Switzerland, Mirka and I became proud parents of twin girls. We named them Myla Rose and Charlene Riva and they are both healthy, and along with their mother they are doing great.” He further stated, “This is the best day of our lives.”

Federer and Mirka or Miroslava Vavrinec, had met way back in 2000 and she had joined him as one of his managers.
