Roach says he will crack 155-km/h mark at WACA
December 14th, 2009 - 1:16 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Perth (Australia), Dec.14 (ANI): Two days before the third and final Test between Australia and the West Indies, new Windies pace sensation Kemar Roach has warned that he will crack the 155km/h mark in a bid to make Australia’s top order “uncomfortable”.
The 21-year-old Barbadian said: “I really think I can bowl much faster … I think I can get up to 155km/h in Perth, easy.
“I want to bowl as consistently and as fast as possible and try to bowl what the batsmen don’t expect. My rhythm to the crease and my fast-arm action gives me the pace. I’m pretty strong,” he added.
“I just try to get my rhythm correct and really pull my left arm through; it creates some really fast deliveries. I have heard about the Perth wicket, I hear it’s pretty quick and bouncy. Most of the wickets in the world are flat, so to get one bouncy and pacy like this makes me really happy. I should really enjoy it here,” Roach said.
He also said that he saw Australian skipper Ricky Ponting as his targetted big prize.
He said he couldn’t wait for his third crack at Ponting and the rest of Australia’s top order, and added that he was eager to convert his threatening spells into a big bag of wickets against Australia. (ANI)
