Rio Ferdinand whips up meaty storm in Hell’s Kitchen-style celeb dinner
November 28th, 2009 - 4:42 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )London, Nov 28 (ANI): English footballer Rio Ferdinand is not only good in sports, but also in kitchen.
The Manchester United star beat teammate Edwin Van Der Sar along with United pal Darren Fletcher, Bafta winner Noel Clarke and ex Coronation Street actress Nikki Sanderson in a Hell’s Kitchen-style event hosted by chef Marco Pierre White.
Rio’s fillet of beef served on a bed of fondant potatoes, Chantenay carrots and roast parsnip with a pink peppercorn sauce won the maximum votes, beating Van Der Sar’s asparagus and parmesan salad - with 69.5 percent votes.
The Man U stars were testing their culinary skills to raise money for Rio’s charity, the Live the Dream Foundation.
“Rio’s was definitely best but he got it easy,” the Sun quoted Fletcher as saying.
“A steak is always going to beat asparagus!
“We’ll definitely all know about his win after this.
“He’s ultra-competitive. He’s not a bad cook though,” he added. (ANI)
