Rio Ferdinand says he is ready to silence his critics

London, Oct 23 (ANI): Manchester United and England centre-back Rio Ferdinand, who is under fire for mistakes with both club and country, has said that he is ready to silence his critics.

“I’m man enough and big enough to deal with it but the person I take the most notice of is the manager. People are allowed to criticize and make comments. Every time I get criticism, I come out in the end a better player. I’m sure it will happen again,” The Sun quoted Ferdinand, as saying.

Ferdinand, 30, was at fault in the Manchester derby for City’s equaliser before Michael Owen’s last-gasp winner - and his hesitation against Ukraine led to Robert Green being sent off.

England boss Fabio Capello revealed he twice talked to Rio about his performance.

Asked if he was going through one of the lowest points of his career, Ferdinand said: “You must be joking. No, not at all.”

Ferdinand is determined to star against fierce rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday. Liverpool did the double over United last season winning 2-1 at home and 4-1 at Old Trafford. (ANI)
