Richard Branson to serve as ’stewardess’ after losing a bet
November 15th, 2010 - 11:50 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattKuala Lumpur, Nov 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Richard Branson is all set to serve as a flight stewardess after he lost a bet with Lotus F1 boss Tony Fernandes. It ought to be mentioned that both of them had bet that whosoever’s Formula One team lost in the Formula One 2010 Championship would need to don a stewardess’ dress and serve on the winner’s airline. And since Richard’s team was behind Lotus’ team, so he is now all set to don the stewardess dress and serve on an Air Asia flight.
Tony Fernandes is also planning to mint some money on the side, as he is planning to auction seats on the Air Asia flight in which Richard Branson would serve as the stewardess. The proceeds from the auction would be donated to charity.
“We have had this great bet running all season and now it’s time for Richard to start preparing himself for some hard work and the likely pain of a pair of high heels,” according to Tony Fernandes. He also divulged that he has already handed over a red stewardess dress to Richard Branson and the two of them have also sorted out the logistical issues of the bet. The highly prized flight is going to operate between Kuala Lumpur to London.
“The date of the flight will be announced very soon and the aim is to raise as much money as we can for a good cause so the discomfort Richard will go through is worth as much as it possibly can be,” according to Tony Fernandes.
