Hot Rod HundleyLos Angeles, Dec.12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Broadcaster “Hot” Rod Hundley would be seen as a part of Los Angeles Lakers broadcast team and would be appearing in six successive games. The retired announcer appeared during Friday’s game when the Lakers clashed with Minnesota. The Lakers officials had made the announcement earlier in the week that the veteran broadcaster would be present in six games commencing from Friday’s game. It has been reported that Hot Rod Hundley would be replacing Stu Lantz, the regular TV commentator who would be able to take part in the games as his wife is recuperating from a surgery.

Meanwhile, Hot Rod Hundley’s appearance on Friday’s game was all the more special for the broadcaster as it marked his association with the Lakers team after a period of four decades. John Black, Lakers spokesperson has emphasized that the veteran broadcaster was the top and the most competent candidate to replace Stu Lantz.

The 75 year old broadcaster who is known as the voice of the Utah Jazz retired last spring after being a part of around 3,000 Jazz games. However, his return is a good news for all the fans who have immensely missed his commentary since his retirement last season.

Hot Rod Hundley who is also an acclaimed former basketball player has been associated with the Lakers for six seasons until he left the team to start a career as a broadcaster for the Phoenix Suns but later joined the Jazz in 1974. Moreover, at the beginning of his career, the veteran broadcaster also had the opportunity to work with the iconic Chick Hearn.
