August 18, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Renee Gork happens to be a reasonably well-known radio persona of Arkansas. She has, however, enunciated on Twitter that she was sacked on Monday by KAKS, which happens to be a radio station of northwestern Arkansas. It refers to itself as the Hog Sports Radio. What was the rationale behind the sacking of Gork? The rationale was that, two days prior to Monday, Renee had sported a hat of the Florida Gators at a news conference related to the Arkansas Hogs (Razorbacks). The news conference had Bobby Petrino, who is the coach of the Arkansas Hogs (Razorbacks).

It must be remembered that the Florida Gators and the Arkansas Hogs (Razorbacks) happen to be two football teams, which are famous due to their intense rivalry. Petrino’s squad was defeated by the Gators in Florida in the previous season with a score 23-20. During the news conference, Petrino had remarked about Gork’s hat after responding to a query of hers. The response from Petrino was not that friendly.

Gork happens to be a Florida graduate. She has articulated that she took hold of the hat of the Gators on Saturday without analyzing its repercussions. The weather was rainy. She has asserted that she has dispatched a letter of regret to the Arkansas University and to Petrino. She has mentioned on the twitter account of KAKS that she desired to make an apology publicly via her show. But she will not gain that opportunity.

The general manager of KAKS happens to be Dan Storrs. He has voiced to The Associated Press that Gork will not function for the station anymore. Nevertheless, he has claimed that KAKS is Hog Sports Radio and is passionately biased and it endorses the Razorbacks 100 percent.
