London, Mar 10 (ANI): Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and referee Massimo Busacca’s row at the Nou Camp continued even outside the dressing rooms with both of them almost exchanging blows.
Wenger and Busacca had to be pulled apart as their touchline row erupted in the tunnel after Arsenal’s Champions League defeat on Tuesday.
Wenger was angry after Busacca sent off Robin van Persie in the 56th minute when the striker shot at goal after an offside whistle had gone.
The Daily Star reports that their row continued outside the dressing rooms with the official shouting back.
“They were both at it. The referee looked at one stage like he was going to whack Arsene. He was saying things like ‘Don’t you dare talk to me like that,’” revealed an eye-witness.
“Usually a referee will ask the manager into his dressing room, but this guy wanted to have his say and was extremely aggressive,” he added.
It is understood a member of Arsenal’s backroom staff had to step in to separate the pair.
UEFA yesterday charged Wenger and Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri with misconduct for comments they are alleged to have made to the Swiss official. (ANI)
