Santa Monica, Aug 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) 26-year-old Redmond O’Neal has been charged with possession of illegal handgun and heroin. O’Neal, the son of the late Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal, was in court on Thursday and he entered a not guilty plea. He has been remanded in prison custody pending the next court hearing.

A police officer on Tuesday stopped O’Neal’s car for traffic violation. A search in his car revealed that he was in possession of heroin. He was instantly arrested and taken to the police custody where he was held without bail. Charges were brought against him and he was taken to court on Thursday where he was refused a bail.

A spokesperson of the Santa Monica Police told Radar Online that, “At approximately 8.45am a motor officer observed an argument at a store on Lincoln corner of Michigan… The officer then watched as he got into his vehicle. He proceeded to go north bound on Lincoln before turning west bound on Olympic, it was at this time the officer observed him going through the red turn arrow.”

O’Neal is on probation resulting from a 2009 conviction of drug possession. O’Neal has had problems with drugs and the law in the past. He has tried several therapies but it seems to have had very little effect on him because he always seems to end up back in the habit. He has been sent to jail and he has entered into several rehab centers because of his struggle with drugs.
