Redknapp puts 80 million pound price-tag on Tottenham star Bale

London, Apr 5(ANI): Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has suggested it would take a world-record transfer fee if any Premier League team wants to buy Gareth Bale this summer.

“Manchester United sold Cristiano Ronaldo, but they got an offer of 80 million pounds. He’s Portuguese and this is more his lifestyle here than Manchester may have been. So in the end, it was good business,” the Guardian quoted Redknapp, as saying.

“I’m sure it would have to be that kind of money for Bale. It would be an amazing figure if you ever sold him,” he added.

Redknapp, however, did admit that it would be very difficult to replace a player like the 21-year-old winger.

“It’s very difficult. We wouldn’t be wanting to sell a player like Gareth Bale at this time, when we’re trying to build the club,” Redknapp said.

The Tottenham manager’s comments came after Bale said that he was open to the prospect of a switch to a leading club. (ANI)
