Redknapp keen to sign Manchester City’s Bellamy
December 24th, 2009 - 12:42 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )London, Dec 24(ANI): Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is likely to exploit Manchester City’s Premier League crisis by making a bid to sign their striker Craig Bellamy, if he is ditched by new manager Roberto Mancini.
Redknapp earlier tried to sign Bellamy from West Ham United in last January’s transfer window, when he chose to join his former Wales boss Mark Hughes at City for 14 million pounds.
City will demand they recoup the cash they paid to West Ham as the 30-year-old has been the outstanding performer since the Arab owners took control of the club, The Sun reported.
Redknapp would be interested in going in for Bellamy again, as there have been reports in certain section of the media suggesting that he may want to leave the club following unhappiness over Hughes’ sacking.
Earlier, Bellamy had confronted Mancini in the tactician’s first training session with the team, as the Italian, known for his no-nonsense attitude, is said to have doubled the dosage on the practice pitch, causing severe discontent among the squad. (ANI)
