Kolkata, April 19 (IANS) The stand-off between Kolkata police officials and the multi-million Indian Premier League (IPL) on security concerns at the Eden Gardnes was settled after franchise owner Red Chillies Entertainment agreed to shell out Rs.7.5 million as security fee. Around 6,000 security personnel would be deployed for the security arrangements at the stadium as many celebrities are expected to witness the seven Twenty20 matches of the Kolkata Knight Riders owned by Shah Rukh Khan.
Initially, the Kolkata police wanted Rs.20 million as the security fee, but after the interventions of the state government and the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) the issue was settled with the organisers shelling out Rs.7.5 million.
